A Grand Day Out 11/11/10

Nottingham’s premier screen printer, Dot Promotional Clothing, met PenCarrie www.pencarrie.com on tour at the rugby hot bed that is the Leicester Tigers ground. Thanks go out to former Leicester Tigers and England rugby player Ben Kay who showed us around the ground and stadium, and thanks also to PenCarrie for hosting the event. Dot were there to find out what’s new in the garment supply field. Screen printing and embroidery is alive and well in the East Midlands!

Train to Gain

We have recently signed up two of our screen printers to the Government ‘Train to Gain’ scheme http://www.traintogain.gov.uk/ This involves work based learning and formal NVQ qualifications delivered in house on a monthly basis by Leicester College http://www.leicestercollege.ac.uk/, who specialise in manual carousel screen printing. As well as monitoring by a qualified trainer and assessor, the guys will have to produce written modules on all areas of the business. Good luck to Brett and Sam!

What we got up to

Big thanks must go out to all those companies who looked after us at the Printwear & Promotion Tradeshow. We have returned with too many freebies to carry, and minds are full of ideas and enthusiasm to match.

The Dot crew comprised of Rich, Zach, Gaz, Rikki Boom and ‘Johnny Come Lately’ Simeon from Bantum fame. Special thanks to Ranks and the girls for putting up with the persistant Rikki Boom……we hope to catch you all soon to share some of the new information on t-shirt printing, embroidery and garment supply.

Flash Dryer = LARGER PRINTS!

DOT have just received delivery of a new automatic quartz flash dryer for drying large format screen prints. This will help working with the increasing demand in larger prints for fashion labels and modern designs, and will increase our capabilities for dealing with unique prints and special requests. runandjump

Hot off the press this week at Dot Promotional Clothing is a new design from local clothing brand runandjump. It is a 4 colour water based print that falls in line with the companies ethical trading policies. For more info on the company check out www.runandjumpclothing.co.uk. The design is to be added to the companies 2010 range that is being launched at the ISPO trade show in Munich in February.
